What Is SBIR Phase III?
SBIR Phase III is the follow-on stage of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. Unlike Phases I and II, Phase III:
Under 15 U.S.C. § 638(r) and FAR 6.302-5(b)(2), agencies may directly award Phase III contracts to the original SBIR awardee (or successor-in-interest).
